In this contents page there is very little use of colour although they have still been able to make this page very attractive. They have managed to do this by being a lot more creative with how they have structured there page in such away to make it look more appealing and fun. One technique that they used was to increase the size of the number's to try and and draw the readers attention. The next example within the magazine is that the main picture at the bottom left of the page is very stereotypical because rap is often looked at as being sang by black people.
Furthermore i feel that it is a very old fashion design with it having an 80's vibe due to the logo and it's colour choice .

This magazine has got a really good looking contents page with it being so much more different than many you see today. To start with the layout is a lot more creative because they have used more images on the page, some drawings, some real portrait photos and another one which is just a collaboration of colours just to make it that little bit more appealing and bright.
Next point would be that yes they have included the brand name but they have kept the font style the same for the smaller text lower down making it unique and very easy to read.
Furthermore they have been able combine there logo style onto the other photo's making it look cooler and be more effective.
Finally i think this will really appeal to the younger generation because of the fact that it includes a wide variety of different images which are the first things most teens find appealing and by placing them all over the page they are trying to force them to read everything which is a very smart technique.

In this contents page the photo, text and font style with share a very similar theme of being serious and formal with the picture showing a focused and in some way blank body language. The use of the fancy, swirly writing allows the magazine to show off it's prestigious side. There is also very little colour used on this page except for the red rose of his blazer which is there to be readers focus and attention. Furthermore they have also been very creative with the title to try and do something different than other magazines.
On the other hand i think that the size of the text will become very challenging for people to read it but the structure of the contents page has been laid out in a very tidy and safe way in order to make sure it fits with the whole theme of the magazine.
Finally i think that the whole style of this page is very posh which is something that i won't be incorporating that in my design however i will be trying to bring new and inventive ways of making my magazine better weather it be going crazy on the title or experimenting with different font styles.

This magazine is very controversial because the main picture is the complete opposite of what is supposed to be portrayed as a elegant and simple contents page however with the use of this boy dressed up in a bulky coat and hat really subverts that because at first glance he seems to be the "chav" type and he really does not fit in with this page.
I feel that they have successfully managed to incorporate the logo into this and ensured that it is still visible and attractive. Furthermore it is clear that they have kept the colour very similar to the logo which makes it that little bit more unique, it also allows the text to be very visible and allows it to benefit potential readers with easy access.
Finally they have used the american flag to possibly help show where the magazine was made and it really helps layout the contents page in avery attractive and inventive way.

In this contents page they have ensured to use a picture to liven up and fill the space that is left over. The style of the font really matches the theme of the magazine which is a hectic and hard rock style music and the size of the text is also really well done because it is very easy to read due to the smart colour choice and the bold writing. They ensured that they covered the entire page with text and not just with the traditional "whats on each page" but they even included a little story at the bottom of the page to keep the readers entertained. Furthermore they even included a source of advertisement in the bottom right of the page to ensure that it gives the reader something else to read and even get involved in. Finally the use of the colours (red and black) are normally associated with danger, violence and hard rock really help benefit the photo because that is the sort of statement that it is trying to get across.

In this magazine they have structured it so that the image takes up the entire page to make it stand out more and look really attractive. Another prominent part of this magazine cover would be the text, the reason for this is because the designers have made sure the font stands out and they have been able to achieve this with the bold and colourful writing. This leads it to looking very bright and appealing and it also makes it much easier to read because the writing is so sharp and bold, appealing to a much wider audience because there is little slang used and it covers a wider genre of music enabling more people to become engaged with the magazine.
The layout of the magazine is very simple and there is little text which attract a lot of people because most teens now when they read a magazine will only look at the pictures.
Finally i feel that this magazine will be more appealing for the younger generation because of the crazy clothing, bright and attractive colours and well known artists.

Front Cover Research

This magazine is filled with a lot of text and and one very prominent image in the middle. The font style is very bold and eye-catching. The image subverts the text because the style is not really feminine and more hard rock/male font. Although Cheryl shows a really bold attitude/body language and she really gives off an intense red and black colour which really works with the overall style of the magazine and the theme as well. In this magazine, the text and size of the font that has been used down the left and side can be difficult to read and may put off potential readers.
I feel that the image used really helps give readers a better understanding of what it is going to be about without reading it, The image gives off a really rock/hardcore vibe and that it would be more appealing to the younger generation because it is such a crazy and wild magazine.  The image however is very gender specific meaning that it is just one picture and one women who takes up a large part of the cover, this may however be beneficial because they may be able to achieve a male audience because there will be a greater sex appeal for them.

This magazine is the sort of theme and style that i am looking at using for my project. I feel that the text/logo of the magazine really fits it well with the theme which is disco/dance and the image is very clear and relates with the theme well. The image takes up around 3/4 of the page because it makes the magazine stand out and it helps give the reader a better understanding of what the magazine will be about.
The text that has been used really stands out because of its style/font and because of the colour choice. The black background allows the red and white font to really stand out and look really good. The girl has her eyes shut with her headphones on showing a rebellious attitude and that she is in her "zone".
The whole structure of the text is simple and appealing and allows the reader to read from top to bottom  with ease. Finally i feel that the language used is more accessible/easier to read for the younger generation because it uses slang in which they would understand.

The reason why i have decided to look at this is because they are well known for providing good quality pictures and nice clear text which is something that is being shown here, and something that i will try to bring into my project.To start with the text is big and bold allowing us to easily read the title. The image on the magazine shows quite a blunt and stern reaction with loads of tattoos which shows rebellion, this really goes well with the theme of the magazine which is rap/hip-hop. Even the most subtle parts of the magazine like the necklace he is wearing relates to the whole theme of the magazine.
The magazine relates to people of around the ages of 16 to 24 with a lot of people who like rap and hard music. There is also one very major image to stand out, be bold and clear. the image stands out clearly and due to the bold colours and clear writing, will lead to it becoming well known and will appeal to new readers.
The whole layout is clear and well done. The picture/image has been placed dead centre to draw readers attention and to help show the theme of the magazine itself.

As you can see with this magazine the most prominent  colour is white which enables the designer to choose what ever colour he think will look good without worrying over if it will be visible. The fonts that have been used are very crisp and bold allowing any potential readers to benefit from easy access and reading of the magazine. Any readers will probably range between the ages of 16-22 because there is a show on sex appeal with the figure and the type of clothes she is wearing which is intended to try and sway younger males to buy the magazine as well as for women because they are trying to replicate the figure of katy in the picture. This shows that music magazines try to explore different areas in order to sell them.
Furthermore i think that they have included a lot of text and information which will encourage nine out of ten people to buy this because there are clearly a lot of stories to read about.
The layout of this magazine has been done on purpose by having text everywhere is to ensure that the reader reads all of the page and not focus on the on one specific area.

Introduction to my Media Magazine

WELCOME TO MY MUSIC MAGAZINE

For this project i will be looking through different magazines that follow the same theme as the one that I have decided to do which is Dance/Electronic.The magazines are made by professionals so they are good for inspiration and I am able to incorporate their ideas and develop them to make them my own. I am very excited to do my magazine and i feel that after my School magazine there will be a lot of details to improve upon and i know i can address them in this project. 
    

Whitley Bay Highschool Magazine Draft

For my school magazine I really feel that my front cover went well because I managed to include a mid-shot of someone which had nice lighting and a very nice smile. I am also very proud of the title of the magazine because the text is bold and it stands out as well due to the colours working well with each other making it stand out even more. The contents page will need work to make it become more attractive and pleasing. I am proud of the set up of each key feature and having the images within the circle's gave it a really nice touch. Overall the Whitley magazine page had gone very well and i hope to make my next project even better.
